I'm contemplating scout/rogue or scout/fighter builds, just fyi. If need be, i can probably be convinced to play something else. _________________ Playing

Ha ha. If I am going to be allowed a centaur I was thinking maybe scout or ranger. Maybe even Draconic Centaur, grow me some wings later on. But I can be the tank too. Since this is replacing Raddick for me, I can stick with something similar, party role wise. I am thinking Raddick will stay in the Guild as a colorful NPC, drinking ale and boosting of his exploits (killing one measly goblin). _________________ Playing: This and that, pretty much everywhere.

| thats a negative on the centuar, +2 level adjustment and 4 racial hit dice makes for an ECL of 6. Nothing above ECL 3 please. |

Hmm, okay, well, if we're not sure if it's going to be Mantis or Latvius who is the fourth player, but they both want to be rogues, I guess we can choose roles after all.
Either of them being rogues would be compatible with what the rest of us are tentatively thinking about doing, at least as far as I can tell. I'll take the healer role then, if no one else wants it. Since we seem more oriented toward the rogue/scout/ranger side of things, maybe I'll make a paladin instead of a cleric, to give us more muscle. |

Don't mistake me Sirine, if Player #4 is a toolbox, Herzog goes for mobility like Scout, then I will go more Heavy infantry. Until Herzog chimed in, I was assuming he was going to continue his Duskblade idea. Maybe I will consider it instead.
I even have considered Paladin, but I will let you have that if you want. But, whether you go Paladin or Cleric, would you cover Diplomacy? The Scout and Toolbox can cover the bluffing and gathering info.
For tanking, I have been looking at more socially awkward monster templates. _________________ Playing: This and that, pretty much everywhere.

Oh, no, that's fine. Feel free to choose what you want. I'll fill in the gaps. If you decide on paladin, go ahead. A paladin centaur would actually be really kickass.
I'll wait until everyone has made their respective decisions about who plays and what they're going to play to decide on my character. |

@DM-PMiller
First off, I am not saying this to suck up to DM Bot( ), but he happens to be correct. When figuring ECL you do add any racial hit dice to the LA, if any. The table you sited lists LA, not ECL which can be vastly different.
Check the book where the centuar is listed (besides the MM) and see if it doesn't list a 'Monster Class' break down for the Centaur. It's a 'carry over' from Savage Species that lets you play a tough 'monster' starting at 1st level. It gradually adds monster hit dice and special abilities over the course of a number of levels till you get the full strength 'monster'.
I used the table for Thr-Kreen in the back of the Complete Psionic book to start Mantis off at 1st level in the Evil Freeform game. He won't gain all his abilites till 6th level I think. _________________ Mantis |

@DM Bot
Couple more questions if I might. Hit points...are we getting max at first and rolling the rest?
Getting a set percentage after first, like 75% (d4=3, d6=4 then 5, d8=6, etc).
Getting max each level?
Can we use Complete Warrior materials?
Thanks

Ahh, that's right it does say Level Adjustment. I checked the glossary and I stand corrected. That's what I get for trying to look things up from my iPhone.
Well dang, Centaur is out, fun while it lasted. As a 6th level character a 1st level Centaur is crap, CR of 3-4. Same with Bugbear and Satyr too. I guess I am going to forget monster races.
BTW Complete Warrior is on the list, I believe. But Complete Mage is not. Probably because we are not being able to play Wizards and such anyway.
What about Warlocks? Not that I was planning one, just curious. _________________ Playing: This and that, pretty much everywhere.

On HP, I think we'll go with max at 1st level and 75% from there on out. I'll add this to the character creation guidelines.
Warlocks are a shadey area that I'll have to adress privately if somebody decides that they'd like to play one. Not to discourage anybody, just that there are story oriented considerations. |

Alrighty...I am seriously thinking about making a 'face' type character myself for this game. It's something a bit new for me and I like trying new types.
So If I get in I can cover diplomacy.
The character will not, be a tool monkey though.
Still waiting for the big decision. _________________ Mantis |

I apologize for the delay, I'm waiting on a PM I sent out to be at least opened.
Update: Choice is made, PM's have been sent.
I'm going to start out with Latvius and allow Mantis and GerOge in later in the game. I want to start off with a lighter load and just see how the game winds up feeling. GerOge doesn't have the time right now but would like to join. Ultimately I couldn't really choose so this is my compromise. |

Your second string 'face' character is waiting patiently on the bench for you first stringers to get things running well. _________________ Pending |

So for the first stringers, where does that leave us for party make up? _________________ Playing
