I'm a long time D&D player. I prefer 3.5 as I have no 4E books. I have no experience on PbP or any online person to person rpg. If you need a player or want to know what I want to play email me. I'm big on utility characters/jacks of all trades type. You know great skills, infiltration, and some damage. Scouts are cool. I'm not a power gamer. Although if I'm aloud I'll take a couple of flaws to spice up the character. I like a good mix of puzzle/rp/hack-n-slash. Lemme know the rules and any faux pas' i make.

Welcome aboard.

My best advice for you would be to read over the posts in some of the games that are already running. This will give you a good idea of the styles of play used by our various DM's and players.

If you see something that strikes your interest, drop that DM a PM or post in the games OOC area. The worst that will happen is that the game is full.

Please note the dates and times on the posts. PbP games sometimes move very slow, especially compared to face-to-face playing. If you have the patience to handle it, many of these game are very good.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Ypu might want to try the 'Adventurers Guild' thread.
Good luck finding a game (or more) for yourself. Cool

Sorry, my canned advice was a little out of date. The Adventurers guild games are already running, but they might have an opening...feel free to check.

Hello everyone,

Finally I'm capable to join your community (RL Issues took the best of me for quite some time.)

So some credentials about me, I'm Petros from Athens, Greece and I've been a RPG addict for fifteen years.
Currently my "free-time occupation" is GM and Player for Pathfinder based campaigns.

I've been playing D&D since the 2nd edition including 3.0 & 3.5 (4.0 isn't worth it in my opinion), also I had experience with various game systems (Vampire the Masquerade, L5R 3rd Edition, Mage the Ascencion, BESM, Alternity, Marvel RPG etc.)

Nice to be here and I hope to join a game or two here soon.

Best Regards
Regrs.

Hello J and Regrs!

Thanks for joining the site! If you have any questions, please let us know. Feel free to browse the games and see if anything strikes your fancy - send the DM in question a PM to inquire about interest in their games.

What can I say, I have been playing D&D back when it was D&D and not AD&D. I have played Warhammer, CoC, Traveller, RIFTs, Gamma World and countless other games. I have DMed and played D&D and such as well.

I have never played D&D 3.5 or 4. I looked at the books for 4 and they gave me a headache. I have played DDO, so I guess that has exposed me somewhat to 3.5.

I am looking for any old game that has a good mix of RP, thinking and problem solving as well as just plain killing Evil things. I might even be into killing Good things, but I must warn in advance that I take it seriously and not just so I can do anything I want because I am 'Evil'.

The group I have been playing with for the last 30 years is not really that much into role playing anymore. It is kind of like Ben Affleck, once you see him in one movie you have seen him in all of them.

I am ready to go and am sure I can find to contribute often and potently. I might even move into running some games after I get deeply ingrained into the society.

Welcome to all the New Guys.. Blick, you and I have a lot in common.. lol.. I just moved back to Northern IL and away from all my gamer pals.. this board is my 2nd home away from home for gamin.. I've played most of what you have and most of what Regrs has too.. Really LOVE L5R.. lol.. but I'm somewhat a purist and really prefer the 1st edition of those rules..

I'm sure if you guys lurk a bit you will find something to your liking.. or if you wanna run a game.. I'm sure you will find players aplenty..

Once again.. welcome.. and i'm sure Sirine will be along again to add her comments and welcome

Hear you on the Ben Affleck, Blick. Which is why I'm currently cursing Jeremy Renner for making me want to see a movie with Ben Affleck in it.

But seriously, welcome! We tend toward the roleplaying side of things there, so it sounds like you'll fit right in.

Thanks for joining and I hope you find a game soon. Feel free to use our chatroom or PM any DMs whose games you find interesting!

Thanks for the welcome.

I feel kind of out of touch as I am not sure really how to roll the dice I need to and store a character sheet.

Should I be worrying about making a character now or wait til I find a game and speak to the DM?

Welcome all new comers.

J, Regrs, and Blick.

Blick, best to find a game first, as each game will have different character building restrictions and rules.

Perhaps you should apply to a Dm to a game your interested in first?

hi all. not new, but gone for a bit. sorry for not letting you know. Well, sorry is the only thing i can offer since the last few weeks were hectic, even before i got back home, and posting on ANY forum was on my list below sleeping, and i didnt sleep enough either

My conclusion, i dont want to inconvenience player by disappearing and waiting on me while everyone including the dm wants to move on, since its possible this will happen again.

however, if any players are open to an irregular type of game, i'm willing to dm one game i put on vote before, or a 'dragonrider' game i got from a contact/friend

the dragonrider game is tough, as there is a huge xp penalty since the characters gain some free extraordinairy abilities as well as a dragon companion, with possibly character class levels, who will also level slowly, more slowly possibly than enemies. If you dreamed of flying combat though, this is your pick

want to live the life of a condemned man where your prison is the army and your field work is clearing an area, Land of the Condemned is your pick. You're condemned to serve a life long sentence and you'll serve it in the army, compelled by powerfull spells

i know i shouldnt post that here, but i'm tired and i cant remember where i should

again, it may be a highly irregular campaign

Welcome back Ostakat, being new or an old members means that real life will show up and that most of us do not take it personally. However I took over one of your characters during your absence. I think it's only fitting that you get back into your game and continue provided that DM PMiller will allow your return. It is his game and I think you know before anyone else how your character should act. Let DM PMiller respond to this before we go any further. I think the biggest thing that would upset any DM is not telling the DM that you will be gone for awhile. The DM then can NPC your character or put the character on hold, depending on his wishes. SO first thing first before you run a game is I would ask if you can handle a character and a game with your busy schedule?
