This is a small tutorial to instruct new players on how to begin playing at URPGs.com!
Step 1 - Find a campaign, listed in this forum or in the Game Info and Listing forum, that is accepting new players.
Step 2 - Email or message your intent to join the campaign to the DM. The DM's email and other contact information should be included in the campaign information.
Step 3 - Follow the DM's instructions on character generation and wait for his or her final approval.
Step 4 - Register your character's name to the board. You will receive an email when your account has been activated. If some time has passed and you think perhaps you may have been accidentally overlooked, please contact your DM.
(A note on appropriate names--you need to register your character's name, not an internet handle. (For example, "Kerlean Gitreus" is appropriate, "ShadowManX" is not.) You will also need a separate account for each character you have, registered under that character's unique name.)
Step 5 - Choose an appropriate avatar for your character from a royalty-free avatar site or get an artist's approval to use his or her art as an avatar. Please make sure you have permission to use the art in question. You can choose an avatar from our free library of character portraits or you can locate your own. Sites little photobucket.com are free and allow you to host your own images easily. Please ask your DM or an Admin for help with this if you don't know how.
Step 6 - Wait for your DM to begin to campaign or introduce your character. He or she will let you know when you can begin posting!
