Site Update

If your like me, you know that the holidays and real life can be busy at best. Time dedicated to our families and work seem to become an all to common theme in the day to day bustle of it all. That is why we thank all of our avid members and readers as we bring in a new year. There are a few new game additions as always.

Here at URPGS we are a small knit community looking for you. Yes, we want you to join our forum for games of your interest. Anything from Pathfinder to Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition. To Shadowrun and Call of Cthulhu, we want you to bring imagination and fun to our boards. If your like me, a fan of learning role-playing games, then joining and start or post a reply to discussions pertinent to your savy.

There are several new games of which I would like to mention. DM Sentience has started a thourough 4th edition dungeons and dragons game full of skill challenges and intrigue called The Darkest Journey. It is rift with great description of characters and plot. The effort he has placed into his campaign backround will be sure to impress you. DM Daemon is starting a epic homebrew campaign called The Second Darkness, war between man envelopes as good or evil may prevail. I will be the first to welcome DM Obi-Wan-Jacobi to the boards of URPGS as Shrouds of the Shadows is a Star Wars Role Playing Game with intense intrigue and plot. He has used the d20 combat system for combat and has an all-star player roster. Please don’t let me forget to mention DM Aberrant who is surely making rave reviews at our boards. His game is using the Aberrant System and the name of his game is The End of Innocence, where unsuspecting teens in high-school find out they have super-human powers. Will they use them for good or evil?

So in closure, on behalf of the moderator team I would like to thank you for visiting this site and be sure to pull up a seat and make some coffee because we strive for unlimited imagination and unlimited role-playing.

September Package Giveaway

Hello folks, wanted to remind everyone that September is upon us and now that the fall seems to be here, we wanted to make a contest fair and simple, now that College is back in session and work is becoming ever important in such tough economic times. What the great minds of URPGS has is a simple random giveaway for people that post interest. Yes that’s right. All one has to do is post that you want included into the drawing and at the end of the month a name will be drawn from the listed contestants. The prize stands as undecided but will be in the amount of at least $10-$25 dollars from what I’m told. So just post interest and gain a wonderful prize for Septembers Contest.

Summer Update

As the summer months draw to an end, let it be known that Unlimited does not go without excellent play by post games from great Game Masters. Their knowledge of gaming and the worlds they set their story in does not go without merit. There were a few additional games URPGS would like to announce. DM Daemon has started his sequel to Dawn of Defiance. As the heroes return to the beginning of when it all started. Daemon has also started Supernatural: Chasing the Bad. A sci-fi thriller, with an excellent supporting cast able to leave you on the edge of your seat. DM Angel has started Heavy Rain. Using the Cortex Rule System, as with other games such as Battlestar Galatica. DM Ash and DM Angel have put together another fun-filled Newsletter depicting DM Daemons Dawn of Defiance. Our very own DM Guildmaster gives us insight into WOTC as with other articles that will please the palette. I personally have started published Paizo Pathfinder Scenarios as short adventures with an overall story arc. I’am also trying to get together a 4th Edition Dungeon and Dragons Game, using released material from WOTC Dungeon magazine. If your new to Unlimited or a longstanding member, be sure to drop us a line and let us know what you think. We are looking for new players and new game masters to join us for a good time.

Additional Games Announcement

URPGS would like to mention that there is some additional games within the forum.  DM Overlord starts Shadows of The Future. A 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons game. Political mystery involving a ruling faction that threaten the player characters. Also worth mentioning is the continuation of DM Nothings Troubleshooter game. When the player characters find themselves with the ability to time travel they must do everything in their power to complete the tasks in order to change history, but there are some corrupt and willing to stop them.

Welcome Aboard DMs

Unlimited Role Playing Games wanted to give a cordial welcome aboard to DM Seawolf, DM Silent, DM Aria and DM Mysteria. They have joined the ranks of Dungeon Master and have started a game. DM Silent has started several favorite dungeon and dragons module named Red Hand of Doom and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. DM Aria has started a homebrew setting named Echoes of Hallowfell. DM Seawolf has started the first Shadowrun game here on Unlimited named Awakened World. He is using the 3.0 core version. DM Mysteria has started a Windows Campaign named Project Javelin. If you happen to see them around thank them for joining and give them a warm welcome.

I would also like to let everybody know that under construction is Café Unlimited. A non-profit store designed to help defray site maintenance and show our unlimited pride. Café Staff is in need of artists to help with different designs. These products are for friends, families and loved ones. Also if you want to be the rave of your tabletop game a travel mug or polo shirt might fit you well.

Attention writers and artists. We are looking for members to help with the Unlimited. It is our very own newsletter. We are looking for several different pieces. Gaming reviews, book reviews, prose, art and graphic desgin. See DM Ash, DM Angel or DM Storm for more information.

 

Memorial Day Superhero Contest

It is that time again for another holiday contest at Unlimted Role Playing Games. We are offering members, new members or DMs the opportunity to create a character using the Windows Lite rule system. DM Mysteria and DM Ash are juding the contest.In sticking with memorial day, the theme is on the American Revoultion. Creating a superhero to your creativity is welcome. Palladium Release

If some of you might recall the release of Dead Reign by Palladium Books. Dead Reign is an apocalyptic setting on Earth. Some speculation as to why sickness and pestillance spread, with the dead returning to life. Just recently Palladium has released the first offical sourcebook for Dead Reign named Civilzation Gone. The sourcebook contains three new zombies, zombie encounters, adventure path, combat and tips. A must have for the Palladium fan in us.

Every player knows that when they sit at that game table take out their pencils, character sheets and dice they are fitting into the role of a entirely different person, during my first experience will role-playing games I would attempt and often fail to play the role of Lidda, Halfling Rogue, I would often act with male brash and show little elegance in the little things to do and many of my players at the time would agree maybe I should have been Redgar, Human Fighter instead. When we finally moved onto my first ever campaign (my first experience was that of the 3.5 basic game…) I picked myself a Human Sorcerer and found myself better able to role-play. 

Many Newbie’s like I did will often fall into the common mistakes a role-player can make when playing a character, and some of the problems that turn may even have been avoided if you did the first few sessions just right, everything has an effect on how you play your character including the other characters in your party and the world your characters are adventuring in.
